New high-efficiency MPC nonlinear pulse compressor
MPC-30-PRIME is a nonlinear pulse width compressor based on Multi-Pass Cell, which further shortens the pulse width of the input laser pulse through nonlinear spectrum broadening. As shown in the figure below, the compressor uses the classic Herriott cavity configuration (hereinafter referred to as the MPC cavity). According to the specific needs, different reflection times of the beam are designed, and the MPC cavity is filled with gas to ensure effective nonlinear interaction. Due to the nonlinear interaction between the high-energy femtosecond pulse and the inert gas in the MPC cavity, the spectrum is broadened, and then a broadband chirped mirror is used to compress the pulse.
Currently, our company can provide MPC-30-PRIME standard version, MPC-30-HP high-power version, MPC-1000-LP long pulse version of MPC compressor, and can be customized according to customer needs. It is compatible with all types of Yb ultrafast lasers on the market and can provide 5-10 times the pulse compression effect. The following is the input and output parameter range.

If the XUV light source is directly driven, its peak power has certain limitations, so an MPC compressor is used to further shorten the pulse. The final compression results are as follows:

MPC can increase the laser peak power density of the target by 8 times, which is very conducive to the generation of high-flux XUV light sources. The above laser parameters are very conducive to the generation of high-flux XUV light sources. So far, ideal experimental results have been obtained. The results have not been published yet and will be supplemented in subsequent articles.
In summary, MPC nonlinear pulse compressor has outstanding advantages such as high efficiency, compact and stable structure, high compression ratio, and strong compatibility. At the same time, it can achieve >50 times compression effect with cascaded MPC compressors or hollow-core fiber compressors.
