To ensure optimal performance, when used for collimating a point light source, the beam should be incident on the flatter side of the lens; when used for focusing a collimated beam, the beam should be incident on the side with greater curvature. Compared to precision-polished aspheric lenses, molded aspheric lenses offer advantages such as better production consistency and suitability for mass production.
