Plano-convex lenses have one convex side and one flat side, a positive focal length, and are coated on both sides with an anti-reflection coating (AR) from 700 nm to 1100 nm. They are primarily used to reduce reflectivity within this wavelength range. They are typically used for applications such as beam reduction, focal length reduction, or image magnification. To reduce spherical aberration, plano-convex lenses are used for collimating a beam so that the beam is incident on the curved surface of the lens; when used for point light source collimation, the beam is incident on a flat surface. LBTEK uses N-BK7, the most common lens material, for a variety of lens production. N-BK7 is the most common lens material used in visible and near-infrared applications. LBTEK plano-convex lenses have positive focal lengths and are commonly used in applications such as imaging or beam collimation. LBTEK plano-convex lenses are manufactured using N-BK7 glass that complies with RoHS standards. N-BK7 is the most commonly used material for high-quality optical components, primarily applied in visible and near-infrared fields. All circular lenses from LBTEK come mounted with standard lens tubes or lens mounting adapters. These mechanical components are engraved with product model, type, diameter, and focal length for easy identification by users.
