LBTEK provides standard uncoated zinc selenide (ZnSe) high-precision windows. These uncoated windows operate across a wavelength range from visible light (600 nm) to infrared (16.0 μm), with high transmittance throughout the entire spectral range. For details, see the transmittance curve. The low absorption of zinc selenide itself makes this material suitable for applications such as helium-neon lasers (HeNe) at 633 nm and high-power carbon dioxide lasers at 10.6 μm. Zinc selenide is a hazardous and irritating substance. Frequent direct skin contact may cause dermatitis. It easily decomposes and releasing harmful hydrogen selenide gas when exposed to acids. It can irritate the eyes and respiratory tract mucosa. While operation, wear a filtered dust mask, chemical safety goggles, and impermeable work clothing.
