Overview
This achromatic waveplate uses a compound birefringent design to hold a near-constant retardance across a broad wavelength band, suppressing the chromatic dispersion that limits conventional single-material waveplates and keeping polarization performance consistent for multi-wavelength sources. A half-wave (λ/2) plate rotates the plane of linearly polarized light.
