LBTEK's Threaded to Cylindrical Dowel Adapters are used to directly align optomechanical components to M6 x 1.0 threaded holes, such as those on translation stages, optical tables, or breadboards. For quick and convenient alignment, the adapter can be screwed into a compatible 12.7 mm post, and then the locating pin is inserted into the M6 x 1.0 threaded hole on the mounting surface. The locating pin can rotate freely around the post axis while maintaining alignment with the threaded hole.
Since these adapters can be inserted into threaded holes, temporary components such as apertures or other alignment tools can be quickly inserted into the optical path. After rotating to the desired position, for a fixed installation, we recommend using additional accessories such as post clamps to secure the post or post holder to the table or breadboard.
These LBTEK threaded adapters have a 2.0 mm hex socket on the locating pin side for adjustment and securing of the threaded adapter. Metric adapters are marked with a circumferential ring on the locating pin side for identification. The M6 external thread adapter features an O-ring to prevent movement caused by play between threads and to prevent the adapter from being inserted too deeply into the component.
