Ultra-High-Speed Digital Micromirror Spatial Light Modulator (DMD)
This LBTEK ultra-high-speed digital micromirror spatial light modulator (DMD) is an electrically-addressed, optically-output micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) whose core is a digital micromirror device. Each aluminum-coated micromirror deflects individually by +/-12 degrees about its hinge axis under binary CMOS control, selectively steering incident light toward or away from the imaging plane to achieve high-speed amplitude modulation of the optical field.
The DDR series pairs the DMD chip with a high-bandwidth DDR3-buffered controller and USB 3.0 high-speed image transfer, supporting binary, 8-bit and 16-bit grayscale playback with internal and external synchronization triggers. Because the micromirrors reflect rather than absorb, the device delivers superior modulation speed, precision, and optical efficiency compared with liquid-crystal spatial light modulators.

The DDR series spans 0.55 inch to 0.95 inch DMD diagonals at XGA, WXGA, 1080P and WQXGA resolutions, with UV (355-420 nm), visible (400-700 nm) and NIR (800-2000 nm) variants. All units carry 32 GB on-board memory and a 45 degrees standard mounting; 0 degrees mounting, custom memory depth, FPC length and operating wavelength are available on request.
