USB Optical Power Meters BIM-7401U-01

Overview

The BIM-7401U-01 is a USB integrating-sphere optical power meter built around a 2 inch PTFE sphere with a Si detector covering 380-1100 nm. It measures optical power up to ~1 W and connects directly to a computer over USB, making it suitable for divergent, fiber-coupled and high-divergence sources where a bare photodiode would saturate.

Construction & Performance

The sphere provides a 12 mm entrance port and an SMA905 interface auxiliary port, with M4 / M6 fixing holes. Calibration uncertainty is ≤±5% and response time ≤2 us. The instrument measures 62 x 62 x 85 mm, weighs 0.5 kg and communicates over USB with a 1.5 m cable.

Storage & Handling

Operate and store within the specified temperature and humidity range in a dry, dust-free environment. Keep the detector aperture capped when not in use, avoid exceeding the maximum average power density, and return the head for recalibration at regular intervals to preserve measurement accuracy.
