Overview

Quartz substrates are typically manufactured from high-purity fused silica, offering excellent optical transparency, an extremely low coefficient of thermal expansion, and a high laser-damage threshold. Their transmission band covers the ultraviolet, visible, and near-infrared regions, making them especially well suited to high-power laser systems, femtosecond/picosecond ultrafast optics experiments, and precision metrology applications. With high chemical stability and strong environmental durability, quartz substrates are a common base material for windows, optical filters, and functionally coated components.

Handling & Storage

For optimal performance, store and use the substrate in an environment at 25 °C with 40%–60% relative humidity. If the surface becomes contaminated, gently clean it with ≥99% alcohol and lint-free lens tissue. Never use coarse cloth, water, or cleaners containing abrasive particles, as these may damage the optical surface.
