SBSM80-1550-4×16Design Tools
The LBTek solid beam steering module (SBSM) is mainly composed of liquid crystal variable retarders and liquid crystal polarization gratings. The device operates by applying different voltages to control retardation, converting incident light into circularly polarized light. Due to the diffraction polarization-dependent characteristics of liquid crystal polarization gratings, light with different circular polarization states diffracts in different directions.
The cascade superposition of multiple liquid crystal variable retarders and gratings achieves beam deflection within specified angular ranges. Compared with mechanical beam steering technology, this non-mechanical approach offers smaller size, faster response speed, and enhanced stability.
