RoHS REACH

SAVANNA is a hollow core fiber compressor that shortens input pulse duration after spectral broadening. Spectral bandwidth is broadened by nonlinear interaction of high-energy femtosecond pulses with a noble gas inside a hollow-core fiber. The resulting supercontinuum pulses are then compressed using UFI's ultra-broadband chirped mirrors.

SAVANNA is based on UFI's extensive expertise in generating intense few-cycle pulses for attosecond research, combining high transmission with unique ultra-broadband compression. Besides pulse compression, the extremely broadband output (270-1000 nm) is of interest in state-of-the-art spectroscopy experiments.

Key Product Features

  • Input pulse energy: 0.5-2 mJ (optimum: 1-1.5 mJ)
  • Input pulse duration: 20 fs up to hundreds of fs
  • Repetition rate: 1-10 kHz
  • Typical compression factor: 5-6 ×
  • Fiber transmission: up to 70%
  • White-light spectral bandwidth: 270-1000 nm (optimal input) / 400-900 nm (commercial 25 fs laser)
  • Footprint: 300 × 60 cm²
  • Customization: Variable spectrum selection, active beam pointing stabilization, flexible dispersion management

Ultra-broadband Chirped Mirror Technology

Double-angle chirped mirrors (PC70 / PC1332) are the key component, providing unprecedented broadband compression with proven capability to produce pulses with <4 fs duration (PC70) or <3 fs (PC1332).
