Overview

The 800nm Chirped Mirror 0fs² (Ultrafast Innovations CM81, 12.7mm diameter) is engineered for minimal dispersion compensation in ultrafast laser systems operating near 800nm. With a group delay dispersion (GDD) of precisely 0 fs² per bounce across the 700–900nm range, this dispersive mirror maintains temporal pulse integrity without introducing additional chirp, making it ideal for relay optics, beam steering, and fold mirrors in Ti:Sapphire oscillators and chirped pulse amplification (CPA) systems where GDD accumulation must be avoided.

Unlike conventional chirped mirrors that compensate for positive or negative GDD, this 0 fs² design serves as a dispersion-neutral reflector for sub-10 fs and few-cycle pulse applications. The P-polarization optimization at 5° angle of incidence (AOI) and >99% reflectance across the full 700–900nm bandwidth ensures negligible loss while preserving pulse fidelity in multi-pass configurations and OPCPA pump delivery systems.

Construction & Performance

Manufactured on a 12.7mm diameter × 6.35mm thick UV-fused silica (UVFS) substrate, the CM81 features ion beam sputtering (IBS) multilayer dielectric coatings optimized for R>99% from 700–900nm at 5° AOI with P-polarization. The 0.2 J/cm² laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT) supports femtosecond Ti:Sapphire amplifiers and high-peak-power applications. The precision-controlled GDD flatness across 200nm bandwidth eliminates spectral phase distortions in broadband ultrafast systems.

Storage & Handling

Operate at 25 °C, 40–60% RH. Clean only with >99% optical-grade ethanol and lint-free lens tissue using single-pass drag method. Avoid abrasive cloths and water.
