Overview

The 800nm Chirped Mirror -1000fs² (Ultrafast Innovations HD68) delivers high negative group delay dispersion of -1000 fs² per bounce, optimized for 805nm with broadband coverage from 775–835 nm. This high-GDD chirped mirror enables compact dispersion compensation in Ti:Sapphire laser systems, where approximately 6 bounces compensate ~6000 fs² of positive GVD accumulated through optical components and gain media.

The -1000 fs² GDD value per reflection makes this 805nm chirped mirror ideal for intracavity dispersion control in ultrafast oscillators and pre-compression stages in chirped pulse amplification (CPA) systems. Its high negative dispersion allows substantial GDD compensation with minimal beam path extension—critical for maintaining compact cavity geometries and reducing alignment complexity in precision femtosecond laser architectures.

Construction & Performance

Manufactured on 25.4 mm diameter × 6.35 mm UVFS substrate with ion beam sputtered (IBS) multilayer dielectric coating. Specified for P-polarization at 5° angle of incidence with R > 99.5% reflectance across the 775–835 nm range. The precisely engineered chirped layer structure provides -1000 fs² GDD while maintaining broadband high reflectivity essential for low-loss femtosecond pulse manipulation. LIDT rated at 0.2 J/cm² for femtosecond pulse durations.

Storage & Handling

Operate at 25 °C, 40–60% RH. Clean only with >99% optical-grade ethanol and lint-free lens tissue using single-pass drag method. Avoid abrasive cloths and water.
