Overview

The 800nm Chirped Mirror -1000fs² (Ultrafast Innovations HD1607) delivers high negative group delay dispersion of -1000 fs² per bounce at 780 nm center wavelength, engineered specifically for compact dispersion compensation in Ti:Sapphire laser systems. Operating across the 755–805 nm spectral range with 99.94% reflectance, this 780nm chirped mirror enables efficient GDD compensation in oscillators and CPA systems where intracavity space is constrained.

With |GDD| = 1000 fs²/bounce, this high-dispersion mirror allows 6-bounce compensation of typical 6000 fs² dispersion accumulated through gain media and optics, significantly reducing compressor footprint compared to conventional -500 fs² mirrors. The large negative GDD per reflection makes it ideal for systems requiring substantial group velocity dispersion (GVD) correction in minimal space, particularly in enclosed oscillator cavities and pre-compression stages of chirped pulse amplification (CPA) chains.

Construction & Performance

Manufactured on 38.1 mm diameter, 12.7 mm thick UVFS substrate with ion beam sputtering (IBS) deposited multilayer coating optimized for P-polarization at 5° angle of incidence (AOI). The chirped dielectric stack achieves R > 99.94% across the full 755–805 nm bandwidth while maintaining -1000 ±50 fs² GDD specification. LIDT rating of 0.2 J/cm² supports femtosecond pulse energies typical in Ti:Sapphire oscillators and amplifier beam paths. Precision substrate flatness and IBS coating uniformity ensure wavefront preservation across multiple bounces in folded compressor geometries.

Storage & Handling

Operate at 25 °C, 40–60% RH. Clean only with >99% optical-grade ethanol and lint-free lens tissue using single-pass drag method. Avoid abrasive cloths and water.
