Overview
The 800nm Chirped Mirror -250fs² (Ultrafast Innovations HD116, 785nm center wavelength) delivers mid-range negative group delay dispersion (GDD) of -250 fs² per bounce across the 700–870 nm spectral range. This GDD value positions the mirror ideally for external compressor stages in Ti:Sapphire chirped pulse amplification (CPA) systems and multi-pass dispersion management where moderate GDD compensation per bounce is required without excessively long optical path lengths.
With -250 fs²/bounce, this 785nm chirped mirror enables practical GDD compensation architectures: compensating 6000 fs² of positive dispersion requires approximately 24 bounces, balancing compactness with beam quality preservation. The 700–870 nm bandwidth fully encompasses Ti:Sapphire gain spectra and OPA signal wavelengths, making it compatible with both oscillator and amplifier systems requiring precise group velocity dispersion (GVD) control.

Construction & Performance
Manufactured on 38.1 mm diameter, 12.7 mm thick UVFS substrate with ion beam sputtering (IBS) deposited dielectric coating. Reflectance exceeds 99% across the entire 700–870 nm range at 7° angle of incidence (AOI) for S-polarization. The HD116 design maintains -250 fs² GDD tolerance with minimal higher-order dispersion oscillations. Laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT) of 0.2 J/cm² accommodates femtosecond pulse energies typical in CPA and OPCPA systems. The 7° AOI minimizes astigmatism while enabling compact folded compressor geometries.
Storage & Handling
Operate at 25 °C, 40–60% RH. Clean only with >99% optical-grade ethanol and lint-free lens tissue using single-pass drag method. Avoid abrasive cloths and water.
