With -100 fs² per bounce, this chirped mirror provides fine-grain dispersion control ideal for intracavity compensation in sub-100 fs oscillators and amplifier stretcher/compressor assemblies where cumulative GDD tuning is required.

The -100 fs² GDD value strikes a balance between compact optical layouts and precise dispersion management. Unlike higher-magnitude chirped mirrors that require fewer bounces but reduce tuning flexibility, this moderate GDD specification allows designers to achieve exact compensation through incremental bounce counts—approximately 60 bounces compensate for 6000 fs² of positive dispersion from gain media, optical components, or propagation through air. This granularity is essential for optimizing pulse duration in regenerative amplifiers and CPA systems where over-compensation degrades temporal performance.

Construction & Performance

Manufactured on UVFS substrates for low thermal lensing and high damage resistance, this P-polarized chirped mirror features ion beam sputtered (IBS) dielectric coatings engineered for -100 fs² GDD at 1030 nm central wavelength. The multilayer stack maintains broadband reflectance exceeding 99.5% while delivering stable dispersion characteristics across the Yb-laser gain bandwidth. Designed for 0–6° angle of incidence (AOI) to minimize spatial chirp and wavefront distortion, the mirror supports LIDT of 0.2 J/cm² for femtosecond pulses, suitable for oscillator and moderate-energy amplifier applications.

Storage & Handling

Operate at 25 °C, 40–60% RH. Clean only with >99% optical-grade ethanol and lint-free lens tissue using single-pass drag method. Avoid abrasive cloths and water.
