With -100 fs² per bounce, this chirped mirror provides an ideal balance between compactness and practical bounce counts for typical dispersion management requirements in CPA and OPCPA laser chains.

At -100 fs² per reflection, this GDD value enables efficient compensation of material dispersion accumulated through optical elements, crystals, and propagation paths without requiring excessive mirror pairs. For example, compensating 6000 fs² of positive dispersion—common in multi-pass amplifiers with several centimeters of gain media—requires approximately 60 bounces, achievable with compact mirror configurations. This moderate GDD facilitates straightforward alignment in both oscillator cavities and external compressor stages while maintaining pulse fidelity for sub-100 fs pulse durations.

Construction & Performance

Manufactured by WaveQuanta on a UVFS substrate for minimal intrinsic dispersion and thermal stability. The broadband dielectric coating is deposited via ion beam sputtering (IBS) to ensure sub-angstrom layer precision and exceptional GDD flatness across the 800 nm operational bandwidth. Optimized for P-polarization at standard angles of incidence (AOI) typical in folded dispersion-compensation geometries. The mirror exhibits >99.5% reflectance across the design bandwidth with a laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT) of 0.2 J/cm² for femtosecond pulses, suitable for oscillator-level fluences and amplifier beam routing.

Storage & Handling

Operate at 25 °C, 40–60% RH. Clean only with >99% optical-grade ethanol and lint-free lens tissue using single-pass drag method. Avoid abrasive cloths and water.
